Training is spread over 2-3 years, covering all aspects of both practical hairdressing and it's theory under NVQ. After completing basic training, all trainees will take the directors hair pre-floor practical exam, in which you will be expected to present several varying models.
directors hair offer ongoing training for all their staff at whichever level they may be at. Assessments and appraisals are conducted regularly.
Starting a career in hairdressing and follow this programme:

| Stage 1: |
trainees
Join the team and promptly begin a training programme consisting of both college based theory and in salon practical hairdressing. With the directors hair 'fast track' approach to training, and with your own commitment and ability, you will move on to Stage 2 within 2-3 years.

stylist / technician
Whether it be cutting or technical,, you will be guided into whichever direction suits you. Ongoing advanced training will continue alongside you day to day work.

After successfully completing your own training you may be interested in becoming a trainer yourself. From blow-drying to cutting and artist work, you can choose the area that suits you best.
art team
Maybe your forte is artistic work?! You can join the Art Team at almost any stage, to be involved in photographic and show work. The Art Team always welcomes new ideas.

management and beyond
After proving your worth within the salon, you may be involved in the smooth running of the salon...and from there, who knows? You may be invited to become a partner running a brand new branch of directors hair.
